CHESS ADVENTURES CAMP
Chess Summer Camps are the perfect way to introduce the game of chess to new students, deepen understanding of the game for established players, or offer intensive instruction for aspiring chess masters. Active aerial gym room time, field trips and to a well rounded camp experience.
For campers GRADES 3rd - 6th: $445
June 8 - 12th
July 20-24th

Join us with Julien Budde, a 26 year old, competitive chess player and experienced chess instructor. Fundamental skills are paired with learning tactics, strategy, middle game planning, and endgame techniques. Campers will learn algebraic chess notations, be challenged with puzzles and, of course, play games. The day will be broken up with our traditional KND camp activities.

About Julien Budde:
Julien's passion for chess started at age five and continued while playing on high school and college teams. He has been mentored by National Grandmasters Jim Voelker and Julian Proleiko. Julien is currently ranked in the top 20% of players nationally. For the past two years he has taught chess at elementary schools five days a week and full time at summer camps in the midwest. He enjoys inspiring and challenging young chess players.
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: MAKING OF LEGENDS
No prior experience is needed. Games are taught from the ground up and experienced players are offered deeper challenges and leadership opportunities. Emphasis is on inclusive play, cooperative problem solving and joyful experimentation. Rooted in our studio's love of storytelling and creative expression, our Legends in the Making D&D camp offers a playful, low-pressure environment where imagination leads and every camper has a role to play

What to expect:
Collaborative Storytelling: Players create characters and work together to overcome challenges in unique fantasy worlds.
Experienced Guides: Trained Dungeon Masters (DMs) lead sessions, teach rules, and facilitate gameplay.
Skill Building: Develops creativity, problem-solving, social skills, and empathy.

About Teacher Mike:
Mike's background is in Theater, with many years on stage and behind the scenes. He loves teaching Musical Theater for Onstage and is delighted to roll the dice and dive into the imaginative world of RPGs! Along the way, we’ll do more than just play—we’ll sharpen problem-solving and teamwork skills while exploring acting, character development, and improvisation. Together, we’ll encourage creativity, stretch our storytelling muscles, and build an unforgettable world—one bold choice, brave character, and epic moment at a time.
